ประธานาธิบดี คนที่ 5 ของสหรัฐฯ เจ้าของแนวคิด Monroe Doctrine มอนโร เกิดวันที่ 28 เมษายน 1758 ในเวสต์มอร์แลนด์เคาน์ตี้, เวอร์จิเนีย (Westmoreland county, Virginia) ครอบครัวของเขาทำการเกษตรมีฐานะปานกลาง ฟาร์มของพวกเขามีขนาดประมาณ 200 เฮกเตอร์  มีทาสอยู่ในการปกครอง  พ่อของมอนโรชื่อว่าสเปนซ์ (Spence Monroe, 1727-1774) ส่วนแม่ชื่ออลิซาเบธ (Elizabeth Jones, 1730-1772) บรรพบุรุษของตระกูลมอนโรนั้นอพยพมาจากสก๊อตแลนด์ ในช่วงกลางศตวรรษที่ 17 โดยสืบตระกูลมาจากตระกูล Clan Munro ในสก็อต มอนโรเป็นลูกคนที่สองในพี่น้องทั้งหมดห้าคน ได้แก่ อลิซาเบธ, มอนโร, สเปนซ์, แอนดริว, โจเซฟ  ในวัยเด็กของมอนโร เขาได้เรียนหนังสือกับมารดาก่อนที่จะเข้าเรียนในโรงเรียน 1769 ตอนอายุ 11 ปี มอนโรเข้าเรียนที่สถาบันแคมเบลล์ทาวน์ (Campbelltown Academy) แต่ว่าเรียนได้แค่สามเดือนก็ต้องออกจากโรงเรียน เพราะว่าที่บ้านต้องการแรงงานไปช่วยงานในฟาร์ม …

บลูพีค๊อค (Blue Peacock) เป็นกับระเบิด (land mind) ชนิดระเบิดนิวเคลียร์​ ที่อังกฤษพัฒนาขึ้นมาในช่วงปี 1950s ในช่วงของสงครามเย็น โดยนำไปวางเอาไว้บริเวณทุ่งราบทางตอนเหนือของเยอรมัน โดยที่กับระเบิดนี้ถูกควบคุมการระเบิด ได้ด้วยการตั้งเวลาล่วงหน้า 8 วัน ,การสั่งผ่านทางสายไฟฟ้าที่ยาว 4.8 กิโลเมตร , และหากมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแรงดัน บลูพีค๊อค มีน้ำหนัก 7.2 ตัน โดยดัดแปลงมาจากระเบิดนิวเคลียร์ บลู ดานูบ (Blue Danube) ซึ่งเป็นระเบิดนิวเคลียร์แบบทิ้งลงมาทางอากาศ ประโยชน์ของระเบิดนิวเคลียร์แบบกับระเบิดบลูพีค๊อค คือ นอกจากจะทำลายศัตรูที่รุกล้ำเข้ามาในพื้นที่ได้แล้ว ยังป้องกันไม่ให้พื้นที่ตรงนั้นถูกนำไปใช้งานได้อีกด้วย เครื่องจากกัมตรังสีที่ตกค้างหลังการระเบิด  สถาบันพัฒนาและวิจัยอาวุธแห่งอังกฤษ (Royal Armament Research and Development Establishment, RARDE) ที่อยู่ในเมืองเคนต์ (Kent) เป็นผู้พัฒนาบลูพีค๊อคขึ้นมาในปี 1954  ต่อมาในปี 1957 อังกฤษนำบลูพีค๊อคไปติดตั้งในเยอรมัน โดยอ้างว่าเป็นอุปกรณ์ในการกำเนิดพลังงานไฟฟ้านิวเคลียร์สำหรับกองทัพเพื่อใช้งานภาคสนาม  1958 กุมภาพันธ์, อังกฤษยุติการพัฒนาบลูพีค๊อค เนื่อจากเห็นว่ามีความเสี่ยงด้านความปลอดภัยเนื่องจากไม่สามารถควบคุมกัมมันตรังสีที่ถูกปล่อยออกมาได้…
